We are still working on this section, and will keep updating it in order to give you more information and a wider choice of hotels, in more areas and different categories. RESTAURANTS

Trastevere Area

BIR & FUD
Via Benedetta, 23
06 5894016
http://birefud.blogspot.com/2007/09/bir-fud-la-pizzeria.html

BIR & FUD - Despite the spelling, this place in the heart of funky Trastevere, takes beer and food very seriously in a welcoming, rustic environment. They serve Neapolitan style pizza (that's the doughier, thicker kind) made with a special blend of flour and come up with a plethora of ever changing appetizers designed as an accompaniment to their custom brew beers from all over the world. They are closed for lunch but open for dinner daily. It's a good idea to call ahead for reservations as this is 'the' spot for a growing beer connoisseur clientele. Call after 6:00 pm. They also run a beer themed shop across town. Their blog gives some details of their beer selection.

LA TAVERNA DEI MERCANTI
Piazza dei Mercanti, 3
06 5881693

LA TAVERNA DEI MERCANTI - Another Trastevere hot spot is a virtual throwback to a place and time before the world sped up. Locals and tourists are attracted by the pizza and flame grilled meats which are served in a typical rustic 17th century environment. On hot summer nights diners can enjoy the atmosphere of the torchlit piazza or in the rooms of the original country style tavern. It's pricier than many for pizza, but the setting is well worth the extra. Reservations are highly recommended.

TRATTORIA DA ENZO
Via dei Vascellari, 29
Tel. 06 5818355

TRATTORIA DA ENZO - Located near the church of Santa Cecilia on the quieter side of Trastevere. Get there early or reserve ahead unless you don't mind waiting. This is the place for home style cooking made by the various family members that run the place. It's rather simple simple and a bit noisy and cramped at times, but food is excellent, from the "primi piatti" (the pasta course) to home made dessert. They serve the Roman standards like pasta all'amatriciana, alla carbonara, awesome fried artichokes, lamb, saltimbocca alla romana etc.. Prices are very reasonable and the service is down to earth but efficient. Open for lunch and dinner (and they generally stay open latish for both). Closed Monday.
RISTORANTE PARIS IN TRASTEVERE

Piazza di S.Calisto, 7/A
(Just off Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere)
Tel. 06 5815378

www.ristoranteparis.com

RISTORANTE PARIS IN TRASTEVERE - When one says tradition in this neighborhood, Paris should in the same sentence. And we don't mean FRANCE here, but this place started way back in 1890 by Dario Paris which is still proudly and competently run by his offspring, Dario and family. Situated in the heart of old Rome, they offer the finest traditional roman cuisine and a wide variety of fresh seafood and seasonal dishes in a well mannered but casual environment. Expect to spend €35 - €55 per person for a sumptuous meal and a bottle of your choice from their wine cellar.

Campo dei Fiori Area

Oh, they have tantalizing food too!
Al Bric - This Osteria, Enoteca is a Temple to wine that allows you to create your own dinner menu based on your wine selection. The food is very creative and in line with the vast choice of wines from over a thousand vineyards. For a quick sip, pop in at Happy Hour from 7:30 - 8:30, which features a choice of 2 wines and a selection of local cold cuts and cheeses.

Mother India - While this ugly duckling is stylistically stuck in the Punjabi revival of the 70's, it can compete internationally with its excellent north Indian fare served in this central location.
